FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is IUDI University’s mission?
To provide accessible and innovative theological education that empowers Christian leaders to address the holistic needs of their communities.
Is IUDI University accredited?
IUDI University is a religious graduate institution permitted to grant religious degrees in Texas under the religious exemption in 19 Texas Administrative Code § 7.9, the rule implementing H.E.B. Ministries v. Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (Tex. 2007). The Texas Workforce Commission has separately exempted us under Texas Education Code § 132.002(a)(2) (school #E62271). Exemption is not accreditation; the State of Texas has not approved or regulated our curriculum or faculty, and IUDI University is not currently accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education. We are a member of the Association of Independent Christian Colleges and Seminaries (AICCS), an evangelical peer affiliation — AICCS is not an accreditor. Prospective students should evaluate our programs based on the rigor of the curriculum, the credentials of our faculty, and the alignment of our mission with their goals.
Who founded IUDI University?
IUDI University was founded in 2025 by Dr. Moussa Bongoyok, a scholar-practitioner who earned his PhD from Fuller Theological Seminary in California. He launched the university as a fully online evangelical graduate school committed to sustainable transformation through godly love, integrity, and academic excellence — serving leaders in the Majority World and beyond.
Are students from different Christian traditions welcome?
Yes. IUDI University welcomes students from across the evangelical tradition and from diverse Christian denominations. Academic discourse is conducted in an atmosphere of mutual respect, and students are expected to engage constructively with perspectives that differ from their own.
How is IUDI University permitted to grant degrees?
IUDI University is operated by the International Development Foundation, a US-based nonprofit. In Texas, religious postsecondary institutions that offer only religious degrees are permitted to operate without prior approval of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, under the rule at 19 Texas Administrative Code § 7.9 implementing H.E.B. Ministries v. THECB (Tex. 2007). The Coordinating Board has confirmed that our programs fall within this exception, and the use of "university" in our name is permitted under Texas Education Code § 61.313 and 19 T.A.C. § 7.5 on the same condition. The Texas Workforce Commission has separately granted us an exemption under Texas Education Code § 132.002(a)(2) (school #E62271). All degrees offered by IUDI University are religious in nature, which is a condition of these exemptions.
